Notice to Customers

Update August 4, 2023: Memorandum from Commissioner Charlie Hatcher, D.V.M.  to Commercial Applicator Licensees/Certification Holders concerning license period.

Update June 30, 2023:  The Tennessee Department of Agriculture is extending some deadlines for pesticide applicators.

Private pesticide applicator certifications that were due to expire June 30 will be extended for 90 days, remaining valid until Oct. 2, 2023.

For commercial pesticide applicators certified in service categories C01-C14, and C16, the deadline for completing continuing education credits (CEUs) for the three year period that ran from July 1, 2020 through June 30, 2023, has also been extended for 90 days. Commercial applicator CEUs for this time period must now be completed by Oct. 2, 2023.

Migrating data is taking longer than expected and we don’t want that process to negatively affect customers. We have reached out to retailers and wholesalers to let them know of these extensions.

We appreciate you for working with us through this challenge. If you have any questions,  please contact the Pesticides Section at the Tennessee Department of Agriculture (615) 837-5148.

Update May 30, 2023: During this transition (outlined below), some business invoices issued by the Consumer and Industry Services Division have been temporarily delayed.

Invoices for all programs except for Pesticides will be sent by June 9 to the email we have on file for the business.

Invoices for the Pesticides program will be sent through the postal mail.

In all instances, business owners have until July 31 to pay any balances owed.

The Tennessee Department of Agriculture is making it easier for customers to interact with the Division of Consumer and Industry Services.

Invoices, licenses, and permits have a new look in 2023. Streamlining the documents makes them simpler to interpret and understand.

The new, secure online Trace First CoreOne portal eases access to invoice, license, and permit information. Business owners can see the status of a license or registration, when payment is due, and the balance owed. Additionally, payments can be made online with a credit card or eCheck, eliminating the need to send payments through the mail.

The Pesticides program transitioned to the new portal on May 24.

As always, we appreciate your partnership in serving the citizens of Tennessee. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out to the Consumer and Industry Services Division at (615) 837-5150.

The Pesticide Section within the Tennessee Department of Agriculture works with commercial and private applicators, pesticide manufacturers and dealers, structural pest control operators, farmers, landscapers, and others to ensure regulations are followed for public safety. The section also registers pesticides and certifies applicators.
