In order to further facilitate the treatment and containment of COVID-19 and support the gradual re-opening of Tennessee’s economy in a manner consistent with federal and state health guidelines and the guidance provided by the Economic Recovery Group, Governor Lee issued Executive Order No. 36 on May 12th. The Order delays the expiration of all valid motor vehicle registrations that expire between March 12, 2020 and May 31, 2020 to June 15, 2020. Additionally, for motor vehicles with vehicle registrations that expire between March 12th and May 31st and are registered in Hamilton, Sumner, Wilson, Williamson and Rutherford counties where vehicle inspections for light-duty vehicles are required, the Order suspends the requirement for vehicle emissions testing such that the owners of those vehicles can complete registration without an emissions certificate until June 15, 2020. All light-duty vehicle registrations in these counties due in June 2020 or later must have a valid emissions certificate to be registered. Please call 866-329-9632 with any questions.
Davidson County Residents should call 615-340-5656.
