Venue and Area Information
The 2023 Current Research in Tennessee Archaeology annual meeting will be held at the Tennessee State Library and Archives in downtown Nashville. TSLA’s new building has a conference center and classrooms, in addition to its state-of-the-art archival and research facilities. We are grateful to State Librarian and Archivist Jamie Ritter for providing TSLA’s conference space for CRITA and particularly on such short notice. We likewise appreciate the patience of presenters and attendees as we sought a new venue following the damage to the Lodge at Montgomery Bell State Park. TSLA will be a spectacular venue for the return of CRITA.
The TSLA is conveniently located on the Bicentennial Capitol Mall State Park at 1001 Rep. John Lewis Way N. Please visit the TSLA’s website for driving directions. The main entrance to TSLA is on the 6th Avenue side of the building.
Lunch
Participants and attendees will be on their own during the Saturday lunch break. The Market House at the Nashville Farmers’ Market is a short five-minute walk across the Bicentennial Mall from TSLA. There you’ll find lunch options for all tastes. Several other restaurants are available within a short walk of TSLA.
Lodging
Although there is no meeting hotel, lodging may be found in downtown Nashville and throughout the greater Metro Nashville area. Please visit your preferred travel website of choice to find hotels or other overnight rental options.
