Mission: A healthy Tennessee
Vision: Eliminate viral hepatitis in Tennessee
1. Reduce new viral hepatitis infections,
2. Reduce viral hepatitis morbidity and mortality by increasing access to diagnosis and treatment, and
3. Reduce viral hepatitis–related health disparities.
Viral Hepatitis program staff are involved in a number of activities in support of these goals, including: 1) conducting disease surveillance and outbreak planning,
early detection, and rapid response; 2) improving access to prevention, testing, and treatment; and 3) building partnerships and establishing policies to address the viral hepatitis epidemic in Tennessee.
To monitor and achieve the above goals through the implementation of viral hepatitis surveillance and outbreak planning, detection, and rapid response.
