Need help finding a child care agency near you?

To help families and caregivers find licensed child care options to meet their needs, the Tennessee Department of Human Services (TDHS) developed a Child Care Locator Map and Quality Rating Improvement System. The Child Care Locator Map is an online tool that offers a current list of child care agencies licensed through TDHS and school-administered child care options licensed through the Tennessee Department of Education (TDOE).

Tennessee has more than 2000 licensed care agencies located in communities across the state. Tennessee families can use the Child Care Locator Map to search for licensed child care centers and homes by address, name (provider), or county. Results can be filtered by location or child care type and map users can view ratings for agencies licensed through TDHS.  To find licensed child care options in Tennessee, click the button below.

Why Tennessee Parents and Guardians Should Look for the License When Choosing Child Care

Licensed child care agencies are required to follow health, safety and teacher-child ratio guidelines that protect children. Staff employed by licensed child care agencies must undergo background checks. Agencies licensed through TDHS are also regularly evaluated and rated based on child-teacher interactions and other child care guidelines according to the established Quality Rating Improvement System.
