Colonel Wade Reed

Colonel Wade Reed currently serves as the commander of the 117th Regiment, Regional Training Institute (RTI) in Smyrna, Tennessee. He commands the overall operation of the RTI which includes a Military Police Battalion, an Armor Battalion with a modular OCS Company and a Quartermaster Battalion.
The 117th Regiment (RTI) programs and provides institutional training within assigned Career Management Fields (CMF's), NCOES, and OCS missions based on the collective requirements identified by the One Army School System (OASS), NGB-ART-I (Individual Training Branch), the Army Program for Individual Training (ARPRINT) for the Army National Guard, the United States Army Reserve (USAR), the Active Component (AC).
Colonel Reed enlisted in the Tennessee Army National Guard, November 1994, serving as an enlisted Infantryman. Upon completion of Officer Candidate School (Tennessee Military Academy), he was commissioned as a Field Artillery officer, August 2000. Reed was previously assigned as an assistant in the G3 office at Joint Force Headquarters after completing the Air War College Class of ’23 at Maxwell AFB.

Colonel Reed holds a bachelor’s degree from Bethel University, a master’s degree from the University of Kansas, and a master’s degree from the Air University. Colonel Reed’s military education includes graduate of the Air War College, Army Command and General Staff Course, Military Police Captain’s Career Course, Military Police Officer Transition Course, Field Artillery Officer Basic Course, Advanced Infantry and Basic Training, Fort Benning, Ga. and the US Army Airborne Course in Fort Benning, Ga.

Colonel Reed’s civilian employment is as a regional director of Operations for Southern Orthodontic Partners. He is married to Shannon Reed and they reside in Lexington, Tenn. They have one daughter, Madison Reed Williams, who is a Physician Assistant in Jackson, Tenn.
