Tennessee Wildlife Magazine

Tennessee Wildlife Magazine is the official publication of the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency.

It is published quarterly and provides our agency with an excellent way to communicate with everyone interested in the great Tennessee Outdoors.

Within its pages, you'll find interesting stories about all species of wildlife in our state.   Deer hunters will appreciate the stories that include tips on how and where to find whitetails on lands that our agency manages.

Fishermen will be amazed at the fabulous variety of fishing opportunities featured.  Wildlife watchers will enjoy learning about agency restoration efforts.

If you are already a subscriber, welcome to our site!  We invite you to enjoy our magazine with a subscription that will deliver a first-class color magazine to your door every quarter.

A subscription to Tennessee Wildlife Magazine also makes a great gift!

Wildlife Photography Guidelines

Submissions will begin again soon.

We are primarily interested in photos of wildlife in their natural surroundings and people enjoying outdoor recreational activities such as fishing, hunting, camping, hiking, etc. Pictures should be correctly exposed, sharply focused, and effectively composed.

Emphasis should be on the subject matter and action. The setting should be as close to the typical Tennessee landscape as possible.  No drone pictures.  Please do not harass the wildlife to obtain images.

Pictures accompanying manuscripts should be done in picture-story style. Photographs should lend a special informative contribution to the events and excitement surrounding the story. Photos accompanying an assigned article should have the necessary information describing the “who, what, when, where, why, and hows” taking place in the photo. All photos must list the photographer.

TWRA reserves the right to use all submitted photos in Tennessee Wildlife Magazine, website, social media, and other agency documents. Photographers whose photos are used in the magazine will be compensated
