Workforce Reentry Tablet Program

Overview

The Tennessee Department of Labor and Workforce Development’s Tennessee Office of Reentry (TOOR) facilitates the Workforce Reentry Tablet Program. This program was established to provide electronic tablet usage for persons incarcerated in county jails across the state for the purpose of workforce and personal development at no cost to the user. The Workforce-Tablet Program allows users in most county jails the opportunity to independently select several modules that will empower the user to successfully reenter society through innovative work-based efforts.

The Tennessee Department of Labor and Workforce Development seeks to expand the Workforce-Tablet Program’s depth and reach through third-party requests. Such requests can be made in two ways – 1) third parties can request workforce-reentry tablets for on-site usage in facilities that serve justice involved individuals and that have defined workforce development objectives and/or 2) third parties can also request to add content to the tablets to educate, develop, and inform the incarcerated users.

If your organization is interested in pursuing either of these options, please expand the relevant dropdown below for more information and access to a request form.

  • Must submit your request at least 60 days before the requested start date of the information.
  • Content must fall under classification as beneficial for workforce development, personal development, adult education, or reentry.
  • Please confirm that you own or have the necessary rights to distribute the content and that it complies with intellectual property laws. We will need written confirmation of this, as well as any applicable licensing agreements.
  • All submitted content will undergo a review process to ensure it meets the quality standards of our Workforce Reentry Tablet. Please adhere to the following guidelines:

Professional Editing: All materials must be professionally edited and comply with our content guidelines, focusing on accuracy, accessibility, and engagement.
